Q: Is the same caregiver there at all times, or do several rotate through shifts?
A: Caregiver/Caregivers will be there at all times to have a strong bond with you and your loved one. Our caregivers want more than just a job.

Q: If mom has to go into the hospital for several days, will the same live-in caregiver be available when she returns home?
A: Absolutely yes as we keep the caregiver busy whiles waiting your mother return.

Q: Do we get to interview several caregivers, and choose the one we like best?
A: Yes, clients may interview prospective caregivers before services are initiated. We carefully screen, hire and manage our caregivers to present you with the right person to meet your needs. Your satisfaction is our highest priority, therefore, if for any reason, a client desires a different caregiver, another one will be provided.

Q: Can we request a caregiver who speaks a certain language?
A: Absolutely, this is a common request at BestCare

Q: It will probably seem odd to have a stranger around. How long before most people get comfortable with a live-in caregiver?
A: It usually takes a week or two to get comfortable with a new caregiver. We also reassure families that while this is new for them, it is not new for our professional caregivers. They are accustomed to the situation and know how to make the transition to having someone in a private home as easy as possible. We want our clients to remain as independent as they can for as long as possible, so the caregivers will give as much space as a client needs.

Q: What is the typical length of service for live-in care?
A: This varies greatly. Service might last for only a few days, or in some cases, extend for years. It is unfortunate that people do not consider live-in care sooner than they sometimes do. The benefits are especially significant for anyone with aging-related declining health or mobility problems, and impact their sense of well-being, security, mood, and quality of life.

Q: What if my dad decides he doesn’t like the caregiver or something about his / her behavior?
A: The advantage of working with a reputable agency is that you may switch caregivers at any time. Always feel free to switch with no questions asked.

Q: How is the caregiver’s time-off arranged?
A: Caregivers give advance notice and we always have coverage.

Q: What are the guidelines when the caregiver gets sick?
A: We have a pool of trained Emergency Caregivers who are ready to go and this is one of the benefits of using BestCare

Q: In the event of a natural disaster or an emergency, is there a plan to provide care?
A: We have a comprehensive Emergency Plan and work closely with local authorities to ensure our clients are prepared prior to and well cared for during and after a natural disaster or an emergency.

Q: How can I monitor the care that my dad is receiving?
A: All caregivers make daily log notes and the binder is left at the house. Also, they will be periodically checked by the quality Assurance visit by the RN, LPN and the office staff. Much of this involves just observing during visits. Food in the fridge, a clean house, and a clean and happy client are all indications that the care is good.

Q: What types of insurance do you accept?
A: We accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Workers Compensation, Long-Term Care Insurance and Private Payments. We also accept all major credit cards.

Q: What will it cost to have home healthcare services?
A: Medicare recipients have their required home healthcare services reimbursed by Medicare at no cost to the patient. The costs for Hourly home healthcare are determined by the services selected and level of expertise required.

Q: How long will Medicare pay for my home healthcare services?
A: Medicare is designed to take care of acute, short-term medical conditions not chronic, long term illnesses. Medicare will pay for skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology as long as the patient is making continued progress in therapy, requires nursing, remains homebound and your physician determines Medicare home healthcare services are still necessary.

Q: Who is responsible for paying for the caregiver?
A: BestCare has a great Caregivers incentive and great rate. So they give out the BEST quality service.
